IGCSE Maths tuition built for Dubai students

Dubai is home to one of the most concentrated clusters of British curriculum schools anywhere in the world. From GEMS Wellington International and Dubai College to Repton, Brighton College and King's College School Dubai, families across the emirate expect the same standards — and the same grade outcomes — as the most competitive schools in the UK. The IGCSE is the qualification that opens the door to Russell Group universities, and parents here know it.

The curriculum alignment is stronger than many people realise. Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics (0580) maps directly onto UK GCSE content — the same topics, the same level of rigour, the same exam technique requirements. Edexcel International GCSE is the same qualification as UK Edexcel. This programme covers both syllabuses in full, so every session is aligned to the exact specification your child's school uses.

Scheduling across time zones is straightforward in practice. UK morning sessions (7–9am GMT) align with UAE study time from 11am onwards in winter, 10am in summer. Evening UK sessions (5–7pm GMT) work well for older students. Sessions are booked to fit your child's school timetable — and WhatsApp makes it easy to stay in touch between lessons regardless of where you are.

More than just a lesson

Most tutors offer an hour on a video call and little else. Every part of this programme is designed to accelerate progress and show parents exactly what their investment is achieving.

Live collaborative whiteboard

Students photograph their handwritten working and send it to a shared whiteboard for real-time marking and annotation — the closest thing to in-person tuition online.

Post-lesson worksheets

Targeted practice materials sent after every session covering exactly what was discussed — so understanding deepens between lessons, not just during them.

Monthly progress reports

Parents receive detailed monthly reports with topic scores, trend data and specific next steps — so you always know what's improving and what's coming next.

Exam board aligned

Every lesson is structured around the exact syllabus — AQA, Edexcel, OCR or Eduqas — so every minute counts toward what's actually being examined.

The programme, step by step

Every student follows a structured journey from diagnostic to exam-ready — with measurable progress tracked throughout.

Free diagnostic session

A 30-minute assessment to benchmark the student, identify gaps, and determine which syllabus areas need the most focus.

Personalised programme built

A structured lesson plan mapped to the student's exact exam board, year group and current level — covering what matters most.

Weekly live sessions with whiteboard

1-hour sessions using a shared whiteboard. Students photograph their paper working and receive real-time marking and feedback.

Post-lesson resources sent

Worksheets and whiteboard snapshots sent after every session so students practise independently with confidence.

Checkpoint assessments

Regular short assessments track performance topic by topic — no weakness is left unaddressed for long.

Monthly performance report to parents

Detailed breakdown: topics covered, scores, trend data vs prior months, and specific next steps — so parents see the value.

Exam preparation & countdown

In the lead-up to exams, sessions shift to timed papers and exam technique to build accuracy, speed and confidence.

Bridging online & in-person tuition

The shared whiteboard lets students photograph handwritten working and send it live. It recreates the feel of sitting next to a tutor — the biggest gap in online learning, solved.

Data-driven progress tracking

Every topic is scored during lessons. Over time, this builds a clear picture of exactly where each student stands — and shows parents the progress their investment is buying.

Aiming for Grade 8 & 9

The programme is specifically designed for ambitious students. Most students on the Excellence plan are targeting the top two grades — and many achieve them.

Parents always in the loop

Post-lesson emails and monthly reports mean parents are never left guessing. They see exactly what was covered, scores achieved, and what comes next.

Live whiteboard session
Question 4b — Quadratic equations

Solve 2x² + 5x − 3 = 0, showing all working clearly.

Student's paper working (photographed)
Using quadratic formula:
x = −5 ± √(25 + 24) / 4
x = −5 ± √49 / 4
x = (−5 ± 7) / 4
x = 0.5  or  x = −3
Tutor annotation

Excellent — correct answer and method shown clearly ✓. Remember: discriminant is b²−4ac = 25+24 = 49. Great work showing the ± both ways. Method mark secured.

Real-time feedback on real handwriting

The biggest weakness of online tuition is losing the ability to see and correct a student's working as they write it. This solves that.

Photograph & send in seconds

Students snap their written working on paper with their phone and send it to the whiteboard via a unique link — no app required, takes under 10 seconds.

Live marking & annotation

Working is annotated live — errors corrected, method marked, and explanations added directly onto the student's own handwriting.

Snapshots sent post-lesson

Annotated whiteboard snapshots are sent to the student after every session, providing a personal marked reference to study from.

No specialist equipment needed

Just a laptop for the video call and a smartphone to photograph working. Paper, pen and calculator — exactly as they'll sit the exam.

Parents see exactly what they're paying for

Sarah H., parent ★★★★★

My daughter went from a Grade 4 to a Grade 7 in under four months. The monthly reports meant I always knew exactly what was happening — no guessing, no surprises, even with the time difference.

The whiteboard was a game-changer. Being able to show my working and get it corrected live made the sessions feel like proper in-person tuition — so much better than screen-sharing.

Frequently asked questions

A free 30-minute online session where we assess the student's current level, identify gaps, and determine which areas of the syllabus need the most focus. You'll receive a short summary of findings afterward. No pressure, no commitment.
The content is very closely aligned — the same core topics (algebra, geometry, statistics, probability, number theory) appear in both. Cambridge IGCSE 0580 and Edexcel International GCSE are both fully covered in this programme. The main difference is in the paper format and mark scheme style, which is something we work on specifically as your child approaches their exams.
Dubai is 3–4 hours ahead of the UK depending on the time of year. In practice this works well: a 7am UK slot is 10–11am in Dubai, ideal for students with afternoon school timetables. A 6pm UK slot is 9–10pm Dubai time, which suits older students. We find a time that fits your child's school day and stick to it. Communication between sessions is via WhatsApp, which works seamlessly across time zones.
Yes — students from across Dubai's British curriculum schools. GEMS Wellington, Dubai College, JESS, King's College School Dubai and Repton all follow Cambridge IGCSE or Edexcel International, and sessions are aligned to exactly what each school is covering. If your child's school uses a different specification, just mention it in the booking form and sessions are adjusted accordingly.
During the session, the student works through problems on paper as they normally would. They take a quick photo with their phone and send it to the shared whiteboard via a unique link — no app install required. I annotate, correct and explain directly on their working in real time.
Yes. The Foundation Session (£50) lets you try a full session with all features before committing to a monthly plan. Most families find monthly packages give much better consistency and results, but there's no pressure to commit upfront.
